Doctor Who on the Big Screen!
Hooked On Who! at 10:00 pm
Inspired by the success of the newest incarnation of the legendary BBC sci-fi show DOCTOR WHO, the Brattle is offering up a selection of some of our favorite WHO stories on the big screen. For the uninitiated, DOCTOR WHO is the longest running sci-fi TV show on the planet, since 1963 it has been delighting audiences with a blend of campy effects, excellent scripts, and charismatic characters – not the least of which being The Doctor himself, a ‘timelord’ who travels through time and space in a blue police telephone box protecting the universe from all kinds of dangers. For this celebration we will be featuring two full storylines from the most well known Doctor, Tom Baker, plus a selection of episodes from the recent resurrection of the show starring Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant.
Friday, August 8 at 10:00 PM:
"Genesis Of The Daleks" starring Tom Baker, script by Terry Nation [142 min]
Saturday, August 9 at 10:00 PM:
"The Long Game" starring Christopher Eccleston and Simon Pegg;
"Blink and School Reunion" starring David Tennant [45 min each]
Sunday, August 10 at 10:00 PM:
"Pirate Planet" starring Tom Baker, script by Douglas Adams [100 min]
This is a free event but you must RSVP (link below) to rsvp@brattlefilm.org with the following: Your name, email, favorite Doctor, the number of people you represent (max 4), and the days you plan to attend (Fri/Sat/Sun).
